Driven by a passion to help cities, neighborhoods and communities rediscover their innate beauty and greatness. Committed to challenging spaces. Going where others choose not to. We are EQA; a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania development team creating environmentally conscious, high quality, affordable places to live, work and play.
Help a town, a community, a neighborhood rediscover its natural assets. Create where it makes the most sense - where suburban and infill sites already exist. Work where others choose not to because the rewards are greater. Take time to understand a place’s history. Work alongside those who are passionate about what they do. Understand that time and diligent work pay off. Accept the responsibility that people put in you - to rebuild a place and craft where they call home - seriously and gratefully.
We are researchers, architects, engineers, environmental experts and land lovers united in our passion for creating landmark communities in which people can live, work and play. Brett Malky, with several partners and investors, founded EQA Landmark Communities in 1998 with a simple goal to partner with developers to create the best new communities in the nation - and one day lead the creation themselves. Today, EQA is fulfilling its dream of creating Landmark Communities in which it is a partner (Edgewater, 151 First Side) and the leader (Newbury).
Newbury
The best new mixed use community in the region and the new heart of the South Hills, Newbury is destined to be one of the region's premier communities. A former brownfield site, Newbury's vision is to create a main street and destination for the community for South Fayette.
Edgewater
Take a riverfront train wheel manufacturing facility that has lain vacant for more than a decade and redevelop it into a premier neighborhood that is a natural extension of one of America's best loved and designed neighborhoods, Oakmont, PA.
Venango Trails
A suburban infill project in which a former public golf course is transformed into a new neighborhood inspired by the rural traditions and architecture of the northern Pittsburgh suburbs.
151 First Side
The first new condominium project in downtown Pittsburgh in more than 30 years, this project is 85% sold and led the way for the redevelopment and repopulation of downtown Pittsburgh.
Summerset at Frick Park
This urban infill project is the largest brownfield Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) revitalization project in Pittsburgh's history and one of the largest such projects in the nation.
Noisette
Noisette is the largest urban revitalization project in the U.S. and has been internationally recognized as one of the leading urban revitalization projects committed to the highest standards of sustainable building and business practices.
